CS 1, better known as Counter-Strike 1.6, is one of the most iconic tactical first-person shooters in gaming history. Originally created by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe as a Half-Life mod before being acquired and published by Valve, the game became the definitive competitive FPS of the early 2000s. Its objective-based gameplay, realistic weapon mechanics, and emphasis on teamwork continue to attract players decades after its release.
GAME RULES OF CS 1
In CS1, every match is a battle between two teams: Terrorists (T) and Counter-Terrorists (CT). Depending on the map, the Terrorists must either plant a bomb or prevent hostages from being rescued, while the Counter-Terrorists work to defuse the bomb, rescue hostages, or eliminate the opposing team.
At the start of each round, players spend money earned from previous rounds to purchase weapons, armor, and equipment. Winning consistently requires accurate shooting, careful economy management, map awareness, and strong communication with teammates. Unlike many modern shooters, success depends almost entirely on mechanical skill and tactical decision-making rather than character abilities or progression systems.
