Among Us is an online multiplayer game that pits teamwork against deception in short, thrilling matches set on a spaceship or themed environments. Players are randomly assigned roles as either loyal Crewmates who complete tasks or secret Impostors whose job is to sabotage and eliminate without being discovered.
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW: TASKS, SABOTAGE, AND DECEPTION
In Among Us, matches begin when 4 to 15 players join a lobby and receive roles at random. Crewmates have a list of maintenance tasks—such as repairing wiring or stabilising systems—that they must complete before the Impostors seize control. Observing player behavior, reporting suspicious activity, and staying alive are key to success.
Impostors blend in with the crew, pretending to work while sabotaging key systems like oxygen or reactors, closing doors to trap players, and eliminating Crewmates when no one’s watching. Sabotage creates confusion, splits up groups, and opens up strategic opportunities for Impostors to strike.
During emergency meetings or when a dead body is reported, all players discuss evidence and vote to eject a suspected Impostor. Smart deduction, convincing arguments, and teamwork are essential to win as a Crewmate.
