Geometry Dash Death Moon is a famed Easy-Demon level crafted by Caustic (FunnyGame’s emergency account). Celebrated for its apocalyptic visuals and seamless gameplay, it’s frequently ranked among the best levels in GD history.
GEOMETRY DASH DEATH MOON’S GAMEFLOW
Death Moon takes players on a journey through a rich sequence of segments: from speed-changing cubes and mirrored auto sections to tight UFO challenges and triple-speed waves. Its art-heavy layout includes flashing backgrounds and unique strobing effects, pushing the limits of the 1.9 engine.
Trivia About The Game
- Death Moon originally had 39,828 objects, but an updated version hit 43,759, far exceeding the official 1.9 object limit. This was done using a glitch that let Caustic copy–paste extra objects.
- The soundtrack comes from O2Jam, a Korean rhythm game. It was later re-uploaded on Newgrounds by the original composer, SHK, with a bass-heavier mix now used in the level.
- The game was ranked #1 in GDToday’s 100 Greatest Levels of All Time, a rare feat for any Easy Demon.
- Part of the Geometry Dash History Books: It appeared in three reward systems: a Weekly Demon, a Gauntlet level, and a rated list entry—14 times in total, making it the most listed level ever.
- Sequel & Spin-Off: The popular 2.0 level Reanimation by Terron is widely accepted as Death Moon V2, using similar visuals and even including the same Chinese symbols "死月" during gameplay.
What Player Are Saying About Deadth Moon?
- EmbarrassedSwim145 - Reddit: " “It is still one of the levels of all time … the deco is exceptional for the time.”
- prosplays3- Reddit: "Many people say the UFO at 35% is the hardest, but for me it'd have to be the dual cube part. It took a lot of practice to get that part right (the first time I beat it I had to keep my eyes wide open lol). Wave part at 60 was scary at first but it wasn't so bad. What it came down to afterwards was beating the level."
